Our story

Farming’s in my blood

A highlight growing up working on our family’s vegetable farm. (Pictured above!) Going to my Grandmothers house for a snack, she would always be tending to her beautiful flower gardens. I would instantly start picking a bouquet of flowers to take home. My favorite being her daffodils. As the years went on, my grandmother passed and the family farm was sold. I began working in healthcare all throughout the pandemic, I always knew something was missing. When the world shut down, I turned to what made me happy after long days with patients- flowers. That was when Backyard Blooms was born. To bring the joy of our flowers to our customers.

We launched our business May of 2020 when the world was shut down and times were dim. Mother’s Day weekend I went out to our backyard and picked a bucket of fresh blooms arranged them, and put them up by the road for sale. Within an hour every bouquet was sold. This was it, this was what was missing.

Creating beautiful bouquets.

Our first year we did eleven weddings!

We have grown so much since that day in 2020. We went from picking flowers from our backyard gardens to creating fields of flowers in the backyard. Growing specialty cut flowers in our greenhouses, using our blooms in wedding floral design, providing local florists with our blooms and selling on our roadside flower stand.
